Being a mom to active and energetic kids is no easy feat, especially when they're passionate about activities like dance, acro and soccer. If you're juggling schedules and trying to keep up with their boundless enthusiasm, this post is for you.

I've been researching and practicing strategies for maintaining a harmonious (chaotic) life while nurturing my little dancers/athletes.

1. The Power of Routine:

  • Establish a Consistent Schedule: Consistency is key when managing multiple extracurricular activities. Create a weekly schedule that accommodates dance, acro and soccer practices.
  • Prioritize Rest: Ensure your children get enough sleep to fuel their active lives. A well-rested child is more likely to perform well and stay enthusiastic about their activities.
Now parents, read those again, but for yourself. Make routines for yourself. As a mom with ADHD, this is crucial. I have steps in my mind I need to do in order to feel like I had a successful morning getting the girls to school and the best days are the ones, where I get up go to gym at 5:30, come home, feed dogs, make lunches, check emails, respond to said emails, fill up water bottles, send an Alexa Alert to wake up girls, feed girls, while girls eat I take care of dogs, get my clothes and bags together for the day...then girls and I race each day to see who can get dressed the quickest :) Then its time to go. I have a make up bag in the car and we are good.

The days I skip the gym, things are off and it impacts my complete day.

Also, sleep. We need more of that always.

2. Healthy Nutrition:

  • Balanced Meals: Prepare nutritious meals that provide the energy needed for dance, acro and soccer. Include a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains in their diet.
  • Snack Smart: Pack healthy snacks for their practices. Opt for options like fruit, yogurt or trail mix to keep their energy levels up.
And yes, it is hard to get kids to eat their fruits and veggies. So I do the best I can. I throw in a smoothie every now then + lots of applesauce in this house.

We do vitamins and yogurt. I like to think, just like the girls figuring out potty training all at once, they all of sudden will like broccoli and bell peppers. Wishing thinking, I know.
