Brands and businesses are having to readjust their communications strategies and efforts, because a new generation is changing the game of online and social media marketing.

While millennials use social media just as much, they see it as a way to connect with others, but Gen Zers actually prefer face-to-face communication and see social media as entertainment rather than a tether connecting them to friends and family.

Gen Zers use more private social media channels, therefore digital marketers need to split their strategies when targeting Gen Zers and millennials, as they may be close in age but vary in preferences.
