Create DIY dyes with things in your pantry, fridge and garden

Teach your kids how to create their own custom dyes, with natural ingredients found in your home. I can’t promise it won’t be messy, but at least they will be learning.
Base step: 4 cups water + 2 tablespoons white vinegar + dye. Simmer for 30 minutes on stove, then strain and add a hard-boiled egg, shirt, material -- whatever you are dying and place in the fridge overnight.

Here are some recipes for dyes based by the desired color.
Yellow: 2 tablespoons ground turmeric.
Pink: 4 cups grated beet.
Blue: 2 cups red cabbage or blueberry juice.
Orange: 2 cups yellow onion skins.
Green: 2 cups of brewed hibiscus tea.
Purple: 2 cups of dark grape juice.
